Commissioning Authorities perform functional performance tests and acceptance of HVAC systems in the building commissioning process. Requirements for certification include maintaining certification as an AABC TBE, a professional engineer (P.E.), or a licensed architect (R.A.) and receiving a passing score on the Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) examination.
